Rossburg, OH  May 10, 2008

32 cars were in attendance at Eldora Speedway Saturday night.  Jon started 2nd in the third heat race and finished 2nd behind Lenny Guyton.  That gave Jon a fourth place starting position for the A-main.  A strong start put Jon out front on the first lap, and he went on to lead 12 more laps until Jerry Bowersock took over the led.  Jerry and Jon were battling it out for the lead with only a few laps left when Jon got a little high in turn two and tagged the wall, which unfortunately resulted in a right front flat that ended Team JHR’s winning streak.  Team JHR will be ready bounce back with action pack weekend that starts this Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park, Saturday at Eldora Speedway, and then Sunday at Waynesfield Motorsports Park.

May 9, 2008  Ada, OH

Limaland Motorsports Park has cancelled tonights events.  As of now it doesn’t look like we’ll be traveling anywhere tonight.  Team JHR will be ready to hit the dirt at Eldora Speedway tomorrow night as we try for three in a row!

Liberty, IN  05-04-08

Team JHR didn’t have much luck this weekend.  Saturday night we traveled to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI.  We arrived around four o’clock and waited there till about eight o’clock till the misty rain and cold temperatures forced the speedway to cancel the event.  On Sunday Team JHR traveled to Union County Speedway in Liberty IN.  A good car count was on hand with 38 Modifieds but a bad pill draw put us in the back of the heat race.  We started 6th in heat was running 4th when the 5th place car slid up and hit Jon’s left front wheel breaking the upper A arm.  Jon still managed to finish 6th with it broke.  We then would have to start 7th in the B main.  A good start had Jon already battling for the 4th place transfer spot still he was pinched off into an infield tractor tire which bent the spindle and lower control arm which unfortunately ending our night early.  Team JHR will be ready for Limaland this Friday and will be attempting for their third straight win at the Big E on Saturday.    More updates to come!

Ada, OH  May 3, 2008

Waynesfield Motorsports Park has cancelled tonight due to rain.  Team JHR will now be attending I96 Speedway in Michigan tonight, and plan to attend Union County Speedway in Indiana on Sunday.

Ada, OH  May 2, 2008

Rossburg,  OH  April 26, 2008

It was another great night for Team JHR at Eldora Speedway!  There were 31 Modifieds in attendance for week 3 at the Big E. Jon started 6th in his race and finished 2nd right behind Todd Sherman.  That gave Jon a 5th place starting spot for the Main event with week 1’s winner Jerry Bowersock starting on the outside pole. Right off the start Jerry had a substantial lead but when Jon got into 2nd he was slowing reeling him in. The caution lights came on and that gave Jon the break he needed. Jerry had a great restart even though Jon was heavy on his tail. With both drivers running the high line it was making things tough for Jon to make a move on Bowersock. After the last caution with on 4 laps to go Jon had enough speed and bite to go higher than Bowersock and make his way around him in turns 3 and 4, once in lead Jon never looked back taking Team JHR to another checkered flag at Eldora Speedway!!

Lima,  OH  April 25, 2008

26 Cars were in attendance at Limaland Motorsports Park.  Team JHR was back to try to continue their winning streak.  We started 6th in the heat race and finished 3rd.  That gave us a 7th place starting position for the A main.  The racing surface was not in the best shape, the middle of the track was rough and you had to be all the way to the top or all the way to the bottom.  This made it challenging for Jon to make any passes without tearing up equipment.  Despite the track condition Team JHR was able to pull off a top five as we finished 5th.  Team JHR will be in action tonight at Eldora Speedway as we try to continue our success at the Big E.  Results will be posted on Sunday.

Rossburg, Oh  April 19, 2008

Team JHR didn’t expect to top last nights win, but Jon was able to make it two in a row and win the biggest race of his career so far at the world famous Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway!  It was a busy Saturday for Team JHR, although still smiling after Friday’s win at Limaland there was plenty of work to be done to the car before loading up and heading to Eldora for more racing action, and action packed it was. Jon started 3rd in his heat and followed Brian Ruhlman for a second place finish.  Team JHR would start 8th in the feature and that didn’t last long.  Jon went from 8th to 3rd on the first lap.  Then there was a caution on lap 2 and Jon was setting in second behind leader Doug Adkins.  Without wasting anytime on the restart Jon was able to squeeze past Adkins on the high side to take the lead. After a couple of cautions, a red flag and 15 thrilling laps later Jon scored the biggest win of his career and Team JHR has only just begun the 2008 racing season!

Team JHR would like to thank all their sponsors and fans for their continued support. They include: William H. Bass Trucking, Little Mexico, Snider Chiropractic Care, Banshee Graphics, Intimidator Race Cars, Hughes Body Shop, Four Seasons, Automated Transport, WRT web design, Bell Racing, QA1 Shocks, Hooker Harness, Wiles drive shaft.

Lima,  Oh  April 18, 2008

After a rainout the first week for LMP, the opening night couldn’t have been better for team JHR. There were 26 cars all in the hunt for the win but only one would prevail. Jon started 5th in his heat and was moving up when he hit a series of ruts in turns 3 & 4 which caused to him to spin out. Restarting 8th Jon fought his way through the field to finish 5th which gave him a 13th place starting position in the feature. Starting on the inside Jon was slowly making his way to the front but quickly realized if he wanted to bring home that trophy he needed to go to the high side, and that he did. Lap after lap, caution after caution, car after car, before you knew it Jon was in second place with his eyes on the leader. With what looked to be a second place finish, a much needed caution came out with only 3 laps to go, this would probably be Jon’s last chance to go for the win.  With the leader running the high line as well, team JHR knew the only way to was to shoot underneath the leader and on lap 18 that’s exactly what he did. Coming out of turn 1 and into turn 2 Jon shot under Daryl Banks and the two were running side by side down the straight away into 3 and 4 when Jon took the lead and never looked back. It was a great night for Team JHR and a great start for the 2008 racing season at Limaland.

Rossburg, OH  April 11th, 2008

The weather was iffy most of the day, but the Big E was able to get the race in last night.  40 UMP modifieds packed the infield and were ready for the season opener.  Team JHR was to start outside front row of the second heat race, but due to transmission failure Jon had to be pushed to get the car in high gear which forced him to start at the tail.  No sweat though as that just gave Jon a bigger challenge as he was able to go from 10th to 1st in 7 laps.  After winning his heat race Team JHR would start 5th in feature.  A good run for Jon in the feature he was able to make it to 3rd for most of the race but came across the line in 5th.  Team JHR will be ready for the season opener at Limaland this Friday and then back to Eldora Speedway Saturday.

Ada, OH  April 11th, 2008

Brownstown, IN April 5, 2008

43 cars where in attendance at Brownstown Speedway last night.  Team JHR started on the pole of heat number four.  With five laps in Jon had a solid 6 car length advantage until the caution came out.  After I good restart Jon was cruising down the back stretch when he bumped the ignition switch bringing his car to a halt.  Jon could not get the car to refire due to a switch malfunction.  As he was getting a push from the toe truck the car finally fired up.  With 5 laps to go Jon would have to restart in 9th.  He was able to get up to 4th but they said he jumped the restart and would be scored in 6th.  Another frustrating B main was ahead.  Jon would start 4th in the second B main with only two cars advancing to the main event, and he was able to finish 2nd.  Jon started 20th in the Feature and was able to make it up to 11th.  Team JHR will be ready for Eldora’s opener this Friday April, 11th.

Team JHR’s first time at this speedway, we qualified 6th in our group, started 6th in the heat race and on a very rough race track we finished 9th.  We then started 14th in the B main was on the move to the front till another lower ball joint snapped sending Jon up to the wall and to a halt which ended our night earlier.  Although not much success this weekend we still gained some good experience.  Team JHR will be ready to hit the dirt at Eldora Speedway this Saturday April 5th.

Clarksville, Tn  March 22, 2008

Car count was a little down from yesterday, 26 cars were in attendance for the final night of the “Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic.”  Team JHR qualified 12th fastest with a time of 15.015 which would give them a Third place starting spot.  As the cars were lining up on the track to start the heat race Jon was warming up his tires when his lower ball joint snapped causing his car to bottom out which resulted in a DNS.  Jon then started 7th in the B-main and finished 3rd.  Started 18th in the feature and finished 12th.  Overall good weekend for team JHR.

Clarksville, Tn  3-21-08

Due to the forecast this weekend team JHR has decided that they will not be attending “March Madness” at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway.  “March Madness” is scheduled to race this weekend March 13th 14th and 15th but the weather forecast is showing heavy rain all three days.  With gas prices on the rise and a 7 hour haul for JHR we have decided to scratch from this event.  Hopefully next weekend we will be able to hit the dirt as we travel to Western Kentucky Speedway for their $6000 to win “Bluegrass Bash”.  Keep checking back for more news and updates.

Barberville, FL    Feb. 9th, 2008

83 Dirtcar modifieds packed Voluisa Speedway Park.  Drawing a good number was key, and once again luck was not on Jon’s side, he drew a 67.  He would start 7th in heat four out of eight.  Only three cars would transfer to the A-main.  When the green flag waved Jon had a strong start and was right up to third until a couple cars spun in turn two resulting in a complete restart.  The second start did not fair out so good.  Jon was caught up on the restart coming out of four and it was a long chase to catch the leaders.  The heat race went caution free and Jon ended up finished 5th.  He would then start 4th in the fourth B-main.  Since there was so many cars they had to change their format a little bit.  There would be four B-mains and they would only take the winner out of each race to transfer to the A-main.  Jon knew if he wanted to win this B-main he had to make his move at the start of the race, and Jon did just that.  The fourth B-main went green and Jon jumped up to the high side in turn one and made it three wide with first and second place cars.  Coming out turn 2 Jon had cleared both cars and was now in setting the pace in first.  After that pass he never looked back and he won the b-main by a full straightaway.  After all the excitement there was a big turn of events that occurred.  As Jon passed the checkered flag his motor started missing and losing power.  As he paced around the track the smoke started blowing out.  Unfortunately the Henry racing team broke a piston and was forced to scratch for the A-main.  With no back up motor along the team had to pack up and take the long trip back to Ohio.  Although we didn’t get to finish out our winter schedule, Jon accomplished his goals and gained a lot of experience.  Keep checking back for Jon Henry Racings new web site, updates, and complete schedule release for the 08 season.

Barberville, Fl           Feb. 8, 2008

Once again 70 plus cars were ready to race and Jon drew a 61 which put him starting 8th in the heat. Jon made it up to 3rd got pinched off by another car and would finish 5th. Jon started 3rd in the B-main and was running good and got up to 2nd and fell back to 4th just before the caution came out. After the restart Jon was back up in 2nd battling with Ken Schrader every lap to hold his spot. Going into turns 1 and 2, with only a couple of laps left,  Jon went in a little too hard and banged up against the outside wall and got passed by a couple of cars and would finish 5th. Although he didn't make it to the A-main what an exciting show it was just watching these drivers giving all they had trying to get that last transfer spot.

Barberville, Fl February 7th, 2008

The car count was down a little from the first two nights with there only being 63 mods. Jon started 5th in the heat and battled with a lot of fast cars but finished 4th. Jon started 1st in the B-main and finished 2nd making it 3 for 3 on making the A-main. Starting 22nd and only having one caution throughout the whole race, the cars got spread out on the track but Jon made his way up to 17th which is where he finished.

Barberville, Fl      Feb. 6, 2008

On night 2 at Volusia Speedway Park for the mods there were 76 cars and drawing a 49 wouldn't make for a good starting spot. Jon started 6th in the heat and made it up to 4th but faded back to finish in the 6th position. Starting 5th in the B-main and needing to finish in the top 2 wasn't going to be easy but after just a few laps Jon made his way to 2nd and that would be where he would finish making the transfer to the A-main.

Jon started 23rd and the track was dry slick with only 1 car dropping out of the race. It was pretty much follow the leader and Jon would finish in the 21st position.

Barberville, Fl     February 5, 2008

There were 73 mods on opening night at Volusia Speedway Park and Jon was starting 5th in the 3rd heat. Jon maneuvered his way past a wreck on lap 1 but he would end up finishing 4th and only the top 3 transferred. Starting 1st in the 2nd of 3 B-mains Jon led start to finish guaranteeing himself a spot in the A-main. He started 20th and was running good until the car in front of him checked up and Jon ran into the back of the car with the end result being a broken upper A-arm. That's racin, but the car is fixed and ready to go for more exciting racing action tonight so stay tuned!!
Lake City, Florida          February 3, 2008

Starting 3rd in the heat race, Jon was up to second right off the start. After a few laps he was ready to take the lead when the caution came out just before he was scored in first. On the restart Jon got a little high and was passed by the third place car which is where he would end up finishing. Starting 8th in the feature and on a very slick race track Jon was making his way to the front. At the half way point he was in 6th right with the leaders. On the restart of lap 13 an unfortunate turn of events occurred when Jon’s rear axle tube slid past the hub which resulted in DNF. Despite these first two finishes at North Florida the Henry Racing team is getting all the bugs worked out and they are very excited and confident that their race car will make a good performance at Volusia Speedway starting on Tuesday. We'll keep you updated as the events occur!!!

Lake City, Florida           February 2, 2008

Drew a 47 in the pill draw which didn't make for the best starting spot. Started 6th in the heat and got up to 3rd but due to the soft tire compound the tire got hot and expanded which made the car very loose and ended up spinning out on the white flag and was scored in 8th. Started 16th in the B-main and finished 6th, but only 4 transferred. Still have some kinks to work out but not bad when there were 36 cars and it being the first time at this track with a new car.
